TOP 5 Email Marketing Tools

Although many experts predicted that emails would be fully replaced by internet messengers, they are still doing very well. It can be seen in the statistics. In Poland, 70% of internet users (about 20 million) regularly check their email inbox. Globally, it’s up to 4.6 billion people. How can such enormous resources be utilized to reach new customers? By using email marketing tools, which we will introduce in the following text.

The electronic mailbox remains an effective tool for generating efficient sales leads. Numerous studies confirm this. For instance, according to a GetResponse report, more than one-third of personalized email messages are opened (30.93%) by recipients in Poland. Globally, this figure is 26.8%.

However, effectively reaching out with marketing messages and encouraging users to open the emails requires the use of specific tools that bypass the spam filters of the most popular email clients.

TOP 5 Email Marketing Tools – Which Ones Are Worth Choosing?

There are many solutions available on the market. The following examples of email marketing tools are, in our opinion, the TOP 5 choices for companies. We considered factors such as software popularity, interface transparency, available functionalities, and customer support.

MailerLite

An advanced email marketing platform that allows the creation of automated digital campaigns based on specified resources, customer databases, and a set schedule. It enables, among others, designing emails from the ground up, and the creation of clear order forms. The plan for up to 1000 recipients is free.

Advantages of MailerLite:

  • Personalization and segmentation of the target group.
  • Technical support at every stage.
  • Multifunctionality (e.g., conducting A/B tests).

Disadvantages of MailerLite:

  • Complicated verification of email addresses that do not have an account on the client’s domain.
  • Very limited free plan (only one page on the free plan).

MailerLite is a versatile tool that allows for grouping recipients along with technical support from the support team. Unfortunately, the very limited free plan makes it impossible to test the system before purchasing the target subscription.

GetResponse

An intuitive tool for running digital campaigns (not only email marketing but also, for instance, Facebook Ads). Interestingly, it is the only Polish software in the list. The basic plan for GetResponse costs 411 PLN per month.

Advantages of GetResponse:

  • full anonymization of personal data (compliant with GDPR),
  • 24/7 customer support system.

Disadvantages of GetResponse:

  • high cost (full functionality exceeds 4000 PLN annually),
  • lack of automatic template saving.

For large projects, the lack of automatic template saving can be troublesome from the perspective of a marketing agency managing many clients. It is worth noting, however, that GDPR compliance allows the tool to meet Polish legal requirements, and the 24/7 customer support system enables the resolution of any unexpected technical issues.

Freshmail

A system allowing the management of databases and the creation of dedicated campaigns based on them (e.g., according to the interests of the recipient), enabling email content personalization. Freshmail has plugins that allow the involvement of the team or external companies. The usage fee is 50 PLN for 1000 recipients.

Advantages of Freshmail:

  • implementation of responsive templates (adapted for display on various devices),
  • integration with various CRM systems.

Disadvantages of Freshmail:

  • lack of stability under heavy load,
  • limited support.

Limited technical support, according to opinions, does not handle simple problems, such as configuration issues, well. On the other hand, integration with CRMs (including those customized for the client’s specific needs) increases the tool's versatility and automation potential.

Mailchimp


One of the most popular and comprehensive email marketing tools. Through a detailed analytics system, it facilitates the preparation of individualized campaigns with a high conversion rate. Mailchimp allows, among others, the analysis of user behavior during purchases or correlation with the customer service system. There is an option to use the free plan of the Mailchimp software, but for sending messages to 500 addresses, the cost is 19 euros per month.

Advantages of Mailchimp:

  • the system has a mailing landing page creator,
  • Mailchimp supports qualified technical support,
  • the tool can integrate with the email client of the hosting provider.

Disadvantages of Mailchimp:

  • complicated interface (for simple newsletter sending for small companies, we recommend earlier proposals),
  • the software is available only in English.

Mailchimp is an ideal solution on a larger scale, as its functionality is the most extensive among all programs.

Constant Contact
 


Software that facilitates reaching customers and maintaining regular contact with them. It can be synchronized with, for example, an online store. The tool has an advanced system for preparing email messages, automatic sending, and the ability to effectively tailor emails to the needs of their recipients.

The cost of this tool is around 100 PLN per month in the cheapest variant, and the trial version works only for 30 days.

Advantages of Constant Contact:

  • One of the highest email delivery rates on the market.
  • The function of importing contacts from MS Office.

Disadvantages of Constant Contact:

  • Limited number of packages. Only three types of subscriptions are available. However, this should not hinder the effective use of the software.

All the tools mentioned above can be tailored to individual needs in terms of, for example, time and number of emails sent, as well as paired with a corporate email account (even one based on a less popular email client).

Of course, other types of software,which can be tested are also available on the market, – however, it is worth starting with the mentioned TOP 5 email marketing tools as they are the most proven solutions. Regardless of the final choice, one thing is certain: an email campaign based on an effective tool is more efficient, cheaper, and less time-consuming.
